Long time, no write!

It has been forever since I have posted! Life is crazy, but blessed. Events have transpired this last 6 months that have left me a little upside down. I keep waiting to feel right side up again, but I have to just keep trusting the LORD! We do have a beautiful new house and a son in highschool. My husband and I are in discussion if we are to have more children in the short future or are we not? Hum, so much to think about on that.

2009!

Wow, so I have been inconsistent with my blogging but very consistent in my journaling. It really helps me talk with God! I can be so real when I am writing him. Anyways, I will try to be a better blogger. 2009 has started and is off to a fast start. Honestly, January was one of my hardest months in my 31 years, or maybe it feels that way because it is so fresh. Nothing I really want to talk about, but things are better. I have tons of hope in my heart and the future is bright. I have a wonderful family and a wonderful savior! He is helping in so many areas in my life. I am embarking on a huge leap of faith to promote myself to Sales Director in my Mary Kay business. We are officially in the qualification process as of Feb 1st! I am super excited to become a leader to many women! I love my business for many reasons, but the biggest is the fact I get to share my faith with many women while mentoring them to be independent business owners.

Getting Involved!

I made a new friend recently at my Son's football game. Her son is on the team, and he a good friend to my son. She has greatly impressed me. She is very involved in community activities. I have always wanted to be involved in PTA and city activities, but to be honest I always feel insecure and intimidated. People don't usually perceive that from me, but it is true. I am working on being more confident in myself, but enough about that. I was writing to say that she has inspired me to get involved even if it is scary. My son and I went with her and some other volunteers to put fliers on doorknobs for the republican party. My son was excited to help in this historic election in his own small way! I am going to join the Lubbock Women Area Republicans (LAWR), and I am thrilled about it! I also am volunteering at church and the school when time permits. I am grateful for the personal growth the LORD has allowed in my life in the past 3 yrs, especially the previous 6 mths.

Fun and lessons from Summit!

Well, we had a blast at our Summit in San Antonio! Everyone looked so cute in their 50's clothes! We had amazing teachers! It amazes me the spiritual and personal growth I receive at each Mary Kay event I go to! It is like a big hug and a small push from the LORD each time I go. I realize that I am afraid to dream too big because Of my Pride. I don't want to have to tell people I failed. I am really going to work on that! We have a saying in Mary Kay, "Shoot for the Moon, and land among the Stars!" I love that. Even if I fail to reach my goal the first time, I will be farther to my goal. I will just try again. This is such a good lesson for my son to learn by watching me. He loves to see me acheiving. He grabs the monthly newsletter that my director sends out every month with our unit recognition, and he counts how many times my name is in it. He always says he is proud of me!

Road Trip!

Yes!! I leave tomorrow for a short trip to San Antonio for a Mary Kay summit hosted by my national sales director Shirley Oppenheimer! I am blessed to have my best friend and teammate Lily Aleman accompanying me! It is a Grease theme, so we get to dress 50's style. It will be great to see some good friends and to make some new ones! I will take lots of pictures and report how fun it was when I get back. This is a picture of the hotel we are staying at!

A Life Change!

Well, I have been wanting to write this blog all week, but have been hesitating. I withdrew from college last week, and I have decided to work Mary Kay full time. I do want to finish school, but I don't want to go another 30K in debt doing so. I also want to pursue a degree that I am passionate about such as a bible or ministry related degree. It was a hard decision and it still hurts. I have earned my associates, and I am so grateful for the knowledge I have gained. I have grown and matured in many ways because of college. I really love what I am doing in my Mary Kay business, so I am excited about the future in that. It has changed me in many ways, such a setting goals for myself. I don't mean in just my business but in life as well. I have made some amazing friends, and I meet new people several times a week. I love making women feel special and teaching them that it is ok to take care of themselves so they can better take care of their families! I am adjusting to this new life change, and has been wonderful so far!

Today was Great!

This was an awesome day! I started it at Church. I started a new bible study by Beth Moore. I have done it before, but it is a great one so I will attend. My pastor's wife hosts the class, and I have the honor of being her assistant! She is a beautiful godly woman, and I think she is a great role model! After church, my son and I had lunch at my best friend's house. It was delicious! I am blessed to have a friend like Lily. Her family is so loving and easy to be around. This is a pic of her and her husband on her last birthday! She is so beautiful!
Then I went to visit my sister and her family! Her new baby is so precious and she is six weeks old tomorrow. My sister is a great mom and has a great heart. Now I am at home playing on the computer. It has been a long time since I took one whole day off from housework, Mary Kay, studying, etc.... It is nice, but I have a lot to do tomorrow! I love it though. We are about to go to my mother-in-law's to eat dinner and fellowship some more with loved ones! I can't wait to start my week tomorrow!
